Fiction vs. Reality

I've gotten myself in trouble, again. It seems that pointing out the fallacies inherent to television reality shows makes you an asshole.

Let's say you want to take up the past-time of sky-diving. Judging from T.V., you'd assume that there would be some young guy from some popular show shouting encouragement at you as 6 cameras film your daring jump.

In reality you pay your $300 and board a plane with 16 other "extreme enthusiasts" and jump when an underpaid "specialist" tells you to do so. You then fall towards the ground and hope that the person that helped you pack your 'chute actually gave a shit.

Which brings me to my whole point: The Sci-Fi channel. COME THE FUCK ON!!! These are the people that brought us that "Crossing Over" show. "I'm going to totally make shit up and you will love me."

Are we supposed to believe that these suits will bring us "reality"? You gonna go ghost hunting? You really want to introduce a new team member for each excursion? DOES THAT MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE???

So, I'm an ass for trying to explain that if you REALLY want to do some ghost hunting, that you probablly shouldn't base your approach on what you see on the Sci-Fi channel.

Nix says: But that's just the opinion of a dick-head.

You know what? I think we're all old enough to tell the difference between reality and television.

We're obviously the assholes for not letting you blather on about shit we already knew.

I kept my mouth shut last night, but this is ridiculous.

And then you fell asleep during the movie, which you were actually interested in seeing.

And I was having a very fucked up day and miserable and feeling shitty and confused and alone.

And you were someone I thought would understand.

Nix says: Just gonna exist, here. Fuck all else.

Nix, you can be abrasive sometimes. Okay, most of the time, especially if you're in a not-so-good place.

Scott's not in the best of spirits lately himself, and he got fed up, I suppose.

Chill out. The last thing you need is to say something off the top of your head and throw away a friendship. Scott's your buddy and your brother; don't lose sight of that and instead of getting pissed, talk to the man.

Scott, just hear him out if he does so.

Fucked up things are happening to us all - we NEED each other as friends and "family" now more than ever. Let's stick together and calm down and be there to support each other from falling through the cracks of insanity and darkness, alright?

Maybe this is just something coming back to bite people in the ass.

I remember an instance when Nix got made fun of for his choice of film and he was angry as hell. I think it was The Last Horror Movie or something like that.

It's weird how history repeats itself.

I'm not saying anyone was wrong or right in this situation. Nix has a strong personality and strong opinions about things and he bashed something that Scott and Corey were interested in. However, the reverse was done before.

Can't we all just get along?

Ok. Yes. That's a valid point, Hizz.

I'd like to point out that I did in no way purposely or maliciously intend it as revenge. It was apparently just me talking to myself.

Nix says: Now I can't STOP sleeping. Damn.
